Please Read Prior To Submitting Photos And Stories

Thousand and thousands of Pitbulls fall vicitm to the sadistic side of man everyday. They are the #1 breed to be abused & neglected. There are more Pitbulls in shelters across the country then any other breed. They are the #1 breed to be euthanized. They are mis-treated by people who have no shred of compassion. They are mis-represented by the media that is seeking nothing more then high ratings and increased sales. They are mis-identified in countless bite reports. And they are mis-understood by the public.

All of these issues in addition to irresponsible owners have placed this breed in a position of desperation. It is up to each of us who truley love this breed and understand the nature of their origin to fight for them.

This problem effects everyone. On top of the unspeakable abuse and fate that so many of these dogs suffer, our rights as pet owners are at risk. Any and all breeds are at risk with BSL because we all know that people who are heartless enough to abuse these dogs and train them to be aggressive will simply move onto a different breed. If we aren't willing to combat this with possitive images then we are giving our consent for this type of action to go on.

Ok, so with all of this said, where does this leave us as responsible owners? It leaves us in the same place as many of these dogs, in a fight we never asked to be in. This is a fight we must take seriously, this issue goes so much deeper then people being afraid of a certain animal.

This issue involves dogs....regardless of their breed, they are dogs and should not be subject to the type of abuse they face. It involves a particular breed that has the nature to love, be loyal, be a clown and so much more. It involves the media creating a mass hysteria for their own irresponsible motive. It involves our rights as pet owners. It involves social problems, drug dealing, gambling and violence.

This is not a pitbull issue, this is a social issue. It is up to us to combat this problem with every weapon legally avaliable to us. My weapon of choice is my love of writing. I am asking every person who reads this, that loves this breed and recognizes the true magnitude of this problem to assist me.

What I need from you is this. I am seeking stories and photos of pitbulls that live as family members, work as search and rescue dogs, have performed heroic acts, work as a part of law enforcement teams, act as therapy dogs and assistance dogs. I also am looking for stories and photos of pitbulls that have been rescued from abusive homes, the streets and fighting rings and are now living as loving pets.

It is my goal to publish a book that portrays these dogs in their true lite. I want to reach people that may never have the opportunity to hear about all the wonderful ways these dogs contibute to society. I want them to have the chance to see what we see.
